Riverside Symposium
The Riverside Symposium is an annual conference offered by the NCORTC in partnership with the Cuyahoga County Department of Children and Family Services. The conference primarily targets agency foster parents, staff, community partners and select birth parents for a day of goal-directed forum discussions with skilled facilitators. Begun in 2003, the Riverside Symposium provides an on-going opportunity for dialogue on various subjects related to improving outcomes for our vulnerable children and to allow participants to engage in networking.
The 2008 Riverside Symposium, "Life's Construction: Building Families Piece By Piece," will be held on August 15th, 2008. The keynote speaker will be the Honorable Judge Michael J. Ryan. Supervisory Conference
In 2008, NCORTC is offering its first annual Supervisory Conference. The conference was planned with the role of supervisors and managers as organizational leaders in mind. The workshops developed directly resulted from requests from supervisors and managers for practical ideas and strategies for maximizing their efforts within an increasingly diminishing resource environment.
This year's theme, "Coaching Your Team for Optimal Performance," will challenge participants to examine their current leadership efforts to identify gaps in efficiency and effectiveness. The conference will take place from March 19-20, 2008, in Beachwood, Ohio. Click below to view a PDF version of this year's conference brochure.
